For a couple of years now I've been suffering with the worst case of dry/cracked lip imaginable. All day I am constantly applying lip balm as my lips without anything covering them is agony.
They constantly crack and then bleed, they flake off and to be completely honest it isn't exactly very nice to be talking to someone and feel as though they are just staring at your flakey lips.
So since I feel like I am an expert in the field of lip balm as I own and have tried what feel like hundreds over the past two years that I would give you my personal opinion on a few Lip Balm I have tried out recently and wether they were work the money, and if they have done anything to help my lips.
1. La Roche-Posay - Barrier Repairing Balm
I initially bought this as I had heard Estee Lalonde rave about how good it was for helping her lips from being so cracked and sore so thought it would help me.
I use this every night and lather it on my lips and yes I do think it helps when its on there however, as soon as it rubs it off my lips are sore again - so it doesn't actually do anything to repair the lips but provides a barrier from the pain while on. The only massive issue I have with this is that it taste horrible, once you apply it it has such a bitter taste to it. This calms done after a couple of minutes but the initial taste just isn't nice.
2. NUXE Reve de Miel Lip Balm
This stuff has been by saviour since November 2014 - I have used this stuff constantly and I am pretty sure I'm on my 4th tub. This product has the thickest texture that it stays on for ages and I really do feel that it works on my lips. The creaminess of it really does hydrate the lips. When I use this product and it comes off I don't have that instant need to go and get more and slather it on again. It leaves my lips feeling really smooth and hydrated. Definitely recommend!
3. Caudalie Lip Balm
I was perusing through the FeelUnique Website as I do way too much, and came across this lip balm and thought 'I have tired everything else so may as well give this one a go' To be honest I have not been using this product for very long so I can't give a 100% accurate review. From what I've used of it so far I do not think it works at all. This is the lip balm I keep in my handbag and use throughout the day as its the easiest one to apply. I feel like I do nothing all day expect put this on. It is very greasy on the lips and leaves that horrible greasy look and once it comes off I feel the need to apply it again as my lips are so sore and so tight. I will use this product up but will not be repurchasing.
If anyone has any lip balm recommendation to help out my quest to find the best lip balm of all time then I am all ears!
Thanks Stef x
